Access to e-education with a high speed internet facility!!
This has been a dream for many students in the remote places across Tamil Nadu and it will become a reality soon.
The sensational news is that in another 6 months, Bharat Net project aimed at providing high speed internet of 1Gbps speed to more than 12500 villages in TN would be rolled out. This was according to Mr. Mano Thangaraj, minister for IT. By this Bharatnet there would be a better deliverance of citizen centric services in the remote villages in the state. On Tuesday, the minister for IT shared his thoughts on the sidelines of a session organised by CII and ELCOT on Umagine Chennai 23.
He assured that all the village panchayats would be able to get high speed, secure and reliable internet services by the BharatNet project. It is true that the Coronavirus pandemic has led to some delay in purchasing routers and now the work is going on smoothly and in another 6 months BharatNet would be launched in 4 packages.
Makkal ID project:
The IT minister later explained that is bisy in getting a master data management tool to avoid duplication of data. By this, the deserving persons would get benefited by the scheme. Point is that work on the makkal ID project aimed at facilitating data governance has been going well. To facilitate the smooth implementation of the makkal ID scheme, staff from many government departments would be given training on computer skills, data analysis and AI etc.
It is not easy to obtain real time data and there are many challenges involved in integrating data from several departments with the IT department. Now, huge efforts are being taken to complete it as soon as possible.
State Family Database or SFDB:
It is worthy to mention that the SFDB which is being formed would be a platform to integrate data from different govt departments. This SFDB would not be like an Aadhaar number but a reference number provided to the individual`s database. Welfare policies, devising schemes would be carried out by the data. The SFDB would be superb and real beneficiaries would see progress.
It is noteworthy that databases would be available regarding child birth, school/college education etc. Point to be noted is that if the student discontinues education after class10 then the reason for that could be identified and remedial measures could be taken easily with the help of the database.
