New Procedure for Property Registration system!

A new procedure is set to be adopted in the Property Registration system with a view to ensuring that there is no misuse of the tokens given for the Property Document Registration.
The State Government of Tamil Nadu Department of Registration of Properties released a notification yesterday (Monday, 6th July) regarding the above. It mentions:
�The public who come for Property Registration needs to send the property details through the internet and obtain advance registration.
This advance registration can be done by a visit to the Office of the Registrar and register the document and get the return of the documents that could be returned (more than 70% of the documents and requisite attachments) in a single trip!
In case there are errors/discrepancies in the application submitted for Property Registration, there is a facility fort eh applying the public to get the correction done.
Further, there was a feature that permitted the change of name of the concerned person on the date of registration. In order to prevent the misuse of this feature, this feature is being removed from the website for online application for Property Registration. Henceforth, it will not be possible to effect any change in name on the date of registration when the token was obtained while registering earlier.
It may be noted that this change has been done for the benefit of the public/citizens and hence, the office of the Registrar MUST THOROUGHLY CHECK ALL THE RELATED DOCUMENTS TWICE IF REQUIRED before the issue of tokens and before sending the registration documentation details online.�
The Department of Registration has informed that in case there are any doubts/clarification in the above-revised procedure, the toll-free number 1800-172-574 may be used for registering the doubts/clarifications.
