Central government has planned to introduce the �digital locker� scheme as a part of the �Digital India Project�.
The scheme provides electronic security for all important documents and articles. This is called �digital locker�. This is given by the ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
Educational certificates, Bank deposits, Insurance and other finance-related documents, PAN Cards, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, passport, Income-tax filing returns associated documents, documents of land & house, etc can be protected under the digital locker scheme.

All important documents can be scanned and registered in the digital locker. Central government has informed that digital locker scheme the latest technology for the safety aspect so that no outsider can access.
Central government has brought this scheme as another step towards �paperless� administration.
The documents thus stored can be used for government-related requirements.
Central government informs that this scheme would expedite the government administration functions thus saving valuable time for the public.
