Regular courses to be introduced soon in Tamil Nadu Open University!

Tamil Nadu Open University, which offers long-distance and part-time study for various courses, is set to introduce regular graduate & post-graduate courses.
Tamil Nadu Open University has been functioning since 2002. It offers long-distance learning courses for graduation, post-graduation, and diplomas in various subjects such as Arts, Science, and Management.
In addition, courses for part-time M. Phil. & Ph. D. are also offered. There are currently more than 4.5 Lakh students.
In this scenario, Tamil Nadu Open University has now decided to introduce regular courses in Arts & Science.
A senior official of Tamil Nadu Open University explained:
� After the introduction of part-time M. Phil. & Ph. D.,, the university is set to offer regular post-graduate courses. The syllabus will conform to the job opportunity environment. Approval will be bought from the syndicate for commencing these new courses.
� Various Financial assistances like infrastructure development fund, Research fund, financial assistance from the Central Government�s Department of Science & Technology and Bio-technology will be possible only if we get UGC�s (University Grant Commission) 12-B status.
� Professors and other employees are being recruited.
� UGC�s 12-B status is expected shortly.
� Efforts are under way to introduce the course for M. Ed. (general).
