Posted on: 01/Sep/2022 10:16:38 AM
Recently, the syllabus of 8 vocational courses of the school students underwent changes. This has been appreciated by many students. The sources have explained that the technical qualifications of the school students would be recognised and these students would be able to find jobs across India. This would help the vocational courses students to earn better income easily

It was later mentioned by Mr. S.N Janardhanan, vocational teacher that even if a vocational course student opts for the voluntary exam conducted by SDCI he would be issued a certificate that would be valid across India.

The certificate would give clear evidence to the skills of the student in that specific domain. It is noteworthy that the 8 revamped courses include accountancy, agricultural science, basics of electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, office secretary ship, nursing, textile and dress designing and nursing.

It was mentioned by a student of class 11 that earlier when the students successfully completed their class12 under the vocational stream they would find jobs themselves. He added that apart from class12 certificate there would be no other technical certificate that would showcase their skills.  He concluded that with the revamping of the syllabus the certificates issued would help them to get good jobs.

It is worth mentioning here that if a student successfully takes the technical exam conducted by SDCI in the subjects mentioned above then they would be issued certificates as domestic data entry operator( for both office secretary ship and accountancy), gardener(agricultural sciences), field technician( electrical engineering), insulation and computer peripherals( electronics engineering), draughtsman (mechanical engineering), sewing machine operator (textile dress designing) and nurse (nursing).

Mr. N. Ravi, general secretary of Tamil Nadu Vocational Teachers Kazhagam spoke about how to avoid complaints of the students overloaded with studies SDCI exams were made optional by the government.
