The TN government has announced that it would be conducting a bridge course for the students studying classes 1 to 9. It is well known that the students of classes 1 to 8 have not attended classes even for a single day and those belonging to class 9 just attended a month of class in the 2020-21 academic year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The bridge course material and work books have been distributed by the school education department to all the government as well as government aided schools in the last 2 days. It is learnt that video lesions have been prepared for the bridge course and workbooks. On Kalvi TV, video lessons for the bridge course would be telecast from 22nd April to 10th May 2021.

According to a circular from the school education department to chief educational officers, for each class 10 lessons per day of 30 minutes duration would be telecast on this educational channel. From 12 noon to 4:30 pm in the evening, the bridge course would be telecast for the students. From 11th May 2021, video lessons for workbooks would be shown on Kalvi TV.

As per some officials it was confirmed that the bridge course along with worksheets would be filling the gap in the learning for the students. The students would get refreshed about what they have learnt in the previous academic year. It is brought out that the course material has been made in 2 volumes- one for Tamil and English and other for science and social science subjects. Mathematics has been included in 2 volumes and it has been split into 2 parts.

As per a teacher, it was clear that the bridge course could be taken by the subject teacher in 10 days and it has been prepared in both Tamil and English.
