Information is gathered that the format of the public examinations question papers will be having 40% skill test questions.
The public examinations for the students (and private candidates) for 10th and 12th Standards are scheduled during March 2020.
It may be noted that the syllabus has been revised for this academic year. Presently, the practical examinations and the revision sessions in all subjects is in progress in all schools.
Meanwhile, information is gathered that the question paper format may contain more question on the skill-testing aspect.
The Examination Board Department officials shared in this regard:
It is well-known that the marks obtained in the +2 examinations are very crucial in deciding the educational career of the students to pursue higher studies! Further, the performance of the students from Tamil Nadu state in the All India competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE and CA have been rather poor! In this regard, the students from the Government High Schools undertaking these competitive examinations fin it very tough! With the main objective to change this aspect, changes were carried out in the syllabus and the examination procedure.
Accordingly, the blueprints of the question papers were NOT released. Only a model question paper was furnished to the teachers to understand the format. At the same time, it was emphasised that the actual question paper will not be in the format of the model question paper! Questions may be asked from any lesson in any subject!
It may be noted that for this year (2020), the question papers are being set by a special teachers committee comprising of skilful teachers under the supervision of college professors.
As such, the question papers for this year will be rather tough. 40% of the question paper may be for questions related to skill-testing and there may be indirect questions as well! It may be noted that 10% to 20% of the questions may be outside the textbook lessons!
Hence, it is advisable for the students to read the subjects thoroughly and also learn more in better detail.
Another prospect of this format is that there will be a lesser number of students scoring 100% (centum)!
However, it is emphasised that the passing of the slow-learning students will not at all be affected!
The question paper format has questions which provide sufficient scope for these students to answer well and score marks.
