Chennai to Nagercoil Special Train Announced for Election Rush - Check Timings & Route
In view of the upcoming legislative assembly elections, Southern Railway has announced a special superfast train service from Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil to manage the surge in passenger traffic.
The special train will depart from Chennai Egmore at 1:25 PM and is scheduled to reach Nagercoil at 2:30 AM. This overnight journey aims to provide convenient travel for passengers heading to southern districts during the election period.
The train will pass through key stations including Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, and Virudhunagar, ensuring connectivity across major regions of Tamil Nadu.
This initiative by Southern Railway is part of efforts to ease travel congestion and ensure smooth transportation during the election season. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance through the IRCTC portal or at railway counters to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
