Rain Likely in Chennai and 22 Tamil Nadu Districts Over the Next Three Hours

Chennai: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast rain in Chennai and 22 other districts of Tamil Nadu over the next three hours, bringing the possibility of wet weather to several parts of the state.

According to the weather department, changing wind patterns over the region are expected to trigger light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in isolated places across Tamil Nadu, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal, on June 15.

The RMC has also warned that a few areas in the Western Ghats districts, Delta region, and southern Tamil Nadu may experience moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph. Similar conditions are expected in parts of Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Namakkal, and Salem districts.

For the next three hours, until 7 PM, Tiruvallur district is likely to receive moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is also expected in Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Pudukkottai, Tenkasi, Villupuram, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Karur, Theni, Salem, Kallakurichi, Namakkal, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Vellore, and Kancheepuram districts.
