Rahul Gandhi Chennai Visit Tomorrow: Campaign in Tiruvallur, Ranipet & Trichy
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Chennai on Saturday as part of his campaign for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to the schedule, he will depart from Delhi in a special flight at around 8:30 AM and is expected to arrive at Chennai’s old airport by 11:10 AM. From there, he will travel by helicopter to Tiruvallur district’s Ponneri, where he will participate in an election rally and campaign in support of Congress candidate Durai Chandrasekar.
He will then proceed to Ranipet district, attending a public meeting in Sholinghur constituency to campaign for candidate Munirathinam.
Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi will return to Chennai and fly to Tiruchirappalli, where he will campaign in Thuraiyur constituency in support of Congress candidate M. Lenin.
After completing his campaign events, he is scheduled to depart from Trichy airport in the evening and reach Delhi by night.
Ahead of his visit, a high-level security review meeting was conducted at Chennai airport, attended by his security officials from Delhi.
Sources also indicate that Rahul Gandhi’s second phase of campaigning in Tamil Nadu is likely to take place on April 20, during which he may meet the Chief Minister and participate in a joint campaign with alliance leaders. However, the venue and timing of the event are yet to be finalized.
