Chennai Sets Up 4,085 Polling Booths Across 16 Constituencies for Tamil Nadu Elections 2026

Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, Chennai has established a total of 4,085 polling booths across 975 locations in its 16 assembly constituencies to ensure smooth voting on April 23.

Among the constituencies, Velachery has the highest number of polling booths with 315 centers, while Harbour constituency has the lowest with 192 polling stations. These arrangements are aimed at managing voter turnout efficiently and minimizing congestion on polling day.

Notably, in the Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar constituency, a single government school in Nammalwarpet has been set up with 13 polling booths, highlighting concentrated arrangements in high-density voter areas.

Authorities have ensured that all polling stations are equipped with essential facilities and security measures to provide a seamless voting experience for citizens.
