Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026: Chief Electoral Officer Submits List of 234 Winning MLAs to Governor
Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik submitted the official list of 234 winning MLAs from the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly Election to Governor R. N. Ravi at Raj Bhavan.
According to the election results, TVK emerged as the single largest party by winning 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly. Meanwhile, the DMK Alliance secured 73 seats, while the AIADMK Alliance won 53 seats.
Although TVK has emerged victorious with the highest number of seats, the party is still short of the majority mark required to form the government in Tamil Nadu. As a result, discussions and negotiations are reportedly underway between TVK and several other political parties to secure the necessary support for government formation.
Earlier, Archana Patnaik met Governor R. N. Ravi and formally handed over the list of all elected MLAs following the completion of the election process. The development marks an important step in the formation of the next government in Tamil Nadu.
Political observers are closely watching the ongoing alliance discussions, as the state awaits clarity on who will eventually stake claim to form the government.
