Gold Prices Drop Further in Chennai on April 2, 2026 – Evening Update
Gold prices in Chennai continued to decline in the evening session today (April 2, 2026), extending the fall seen in the morning.
As per the latest update, 22-carat gold has dropped to ₹13,750 per gram, down by ₹200 from the morning rate. On a sovereign basis, the price now stands at ₹1,10,000, marking a further decline of ₹1,600.
Similarly, 18-carat gold is now priced at ₹11,455 per gram, falling by ₹180 compared to the morning session, indicating continued weakness in the market.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged in the evening, holding steady at ₹255 per gram.
Today’s continued decline comes after the sharp surge seen on April 1, highlighting ongoing volatility in the bullion market. Market movements are being influenced by global cues and profit-booking by investors.
