Chennai Traffic Update: Congestion Worsens on Foreshore Estate Loop Road
Traffic congestion has increased on Foreshore Estate Loop Road in Chennai as fish vendors have reportedly returned to roadside sales despite restrictions imposed by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). Motorists say the roadside stalls are affecting vehicle movement and creating safety concerns on the busy stretch.
The issue has become more serious as traffic from Kamarajar Salai is currently being diverted through Loop Road due to ongoing Metro Rail works. Vendors, however, claim that poor visibility and accessibility inside the newly constructed fish market have affected their business, forcing some to return to roadside vending.
GCC officials have stated that action will be taken in the coming days to remove unauthorized roadside stalls and improve traffic flow on the route.
