Southern Railway Revises Pothigai, Nellai and Cholan Express Timings Due to Chennai Egmore Renovation
Due to ongoing renovation works at Chennai Egmore railway station, the Southern Railway has announced temporary changes in three major express train services.
Pothigai Express (12661)
The Pothigai Express, which normally operates from Chennai Egmore to Sengottai, will depart from Tambaram instead of Egmore from March 2 to March 16. The revised departure time is 8:05 PM from Tambaram.
Nellai Express (12632)
The Nellai Express, running from Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore, will be operated only up to Tambaram from March 1 to March 15. The train will not terminate at Egmore during this period.
Cholan Express (22675)
The Cholan Express, operating between Chennai Egmore and Tiruchirappalli, will depart at 10:15 AM instead of 8:00 AM from February 28 to March 15.
Southern Railway stated that these temporary changes have been implemented to facilitate smooth execution of modernization works at Egmore station and to minimize operational disruptions.
Passengers are advised to check revised timings before planning their journey.
