A low-pressure trough has brought light rainfall to several southern coastal districts and parts of the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu, with similar weather conditions expected to continue over the next few days.

According to the latest forecast, light rain will persist in coastal and hilly regions from April 2 to April 6, while other parts of the state will experience varied weather patterns.

Rain Forecast Till April 7

Weather officials have indicated that light showers will continue across southern Tamil Nadu and the Western Ghats districts until April 6. On April 7, rainfall is expected to extend to north coastal areas as well, though it will remain light in intensity.

This scattered rainfall is unlikely to cause major disruptions but may provide slight relief from rising temperatures in some regions.

Interior Tamil Nadu to Experience Rising Heat

In contrast, northern interior districts will continue to witness dry weather conditions. From April 3 to April 5, temperatures are likely to increase by 2°C to 3°C, resulting in hotter daytime conditions.

Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions against heat, including staying hydrated and avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours.

Chennai Weather: Partly Cloudy with Normal Temperature

In Chennai, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy over the coming days. However, temperatures will stay close to normal, with no major fluctuations anticipated.
