To ensure hassle-free travel for voters during the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, the Tamil Nadu Transport Department has announced the operation of 11,323 special buses from Chennai between April 21 and April 23, 2026. These additional services aim to help people travel to their hometowns and participate in voting on April 23.
Along with the regular 2,092 daily bus services, an additional 6,234 special buses will be operated across three days. Major bus terminals such as Koyambedu Bus Terminus, Kilambakkam Bus Terminus, and Madhavaram Bus Terminus will handle these services.

Passengers are strongly advised to book tickets in advance through the official TNSTC Official App or via the website www.tnstc.in to avoid last-minute congestion. A 24x7 control room has also been set up to assist passengers, and support is available via the helpline number 94450 14436.
In addition to bus services, special trains will be operated from April 19 to April 28, with increased frequency between April 21 and April 23, providing multiple travel options for voters during the election period.
