Bridging the gap between the publishers and readers Chennai book festival brings in feast for the minds at YMCA grounds Royapettah. This fourth edition of the book festival will be held from August 17 to 27 with over 200 stalls.
Chennai Book festival ensembles greatest and modern literatures from both Tamil and English languages. Many of the books are finding the official release in this festival organized by Tamil Nool Veliyeedu Matrum Nool Virpanai Membaattu Kuzhumam.
One of the trustees of the organization told the advantages of having such small festival for the welfare of publication reaching wide range of readers from different categories. Chennai book fair is one of the biggest books festivals of India usually starting in the month of January. So in order to increase the sales with this big annual gap the small time Chennai Royapettah book festival will be very helpful says the sources.
More than three lakh people are expected for the festival and the organizers reached many schools to bring out their students for the book exhibition. Art competitions will be held at the book fair festival on August 22 from 9.00 am. Entry is free for the festival and the fair will be opened for public from 2.00 pm on weekdays and 11.00 am on weekends.
