There are many private ticket booking counters in India. The important piece of news is the railway board has increased the service charges for private ticket booking counters in India. This has caught the attention of many now. It is worthy to mention that board order issued on 13th of August 2018 increased the service changes for season tickets renewal and for purchasing unreserved tickets at bonafide private counters. The board order did not increase the security deposit. The profit of the private ticket counters in India would be doubled due to additional service charges collected from the passengers.
Director, Passenger Marketing, Railway Board, Mr. Shelly Srivastava, sanctioned Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Seva and Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra to collect additional service charges.
According to the order it is clear that JTBS operators are allowed to renew season tickets after realising service charge of Rs 5 per ticket. An amount of Rs 2 would be collected by them towards commission for issuing unreserved ticket. Beginning from 1st September 2018, the revised charges would come into effect and this was also confirmed by the order. It is important to note that there were around 188 authorised private ticket reservation counters in India. This was informed by the government in the parliament in the year 2017.
