The five major lakes supplying water to Chennai - Chembarambakkam, Puzhal, Poondi, Cholavaram, and Kannankottai - have a combined storage capacity of 11.757 TMC. Currently, these reservoirs hold 8.237 TMC of water, ensuring a steady supply for the city’s needs.
