Brahmotsavam at Chennai TTD Temple commences today (3rd October)

As the grand Brahmotsavam is being celebrated in the famous Tirupathi temple of Lord Venkateswara, it is traditional to celebrate the Brahmotsavam at the TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam) in T Nagar, Chennai for all the 9 days.

Accordingly, Brahmotsavam is set to be celebrated at the T Nagar TTD from today (Monday, 3rd October). The celebrations will be for 9 days till 11th October.

One of the main events of the Brahmotsavam, �Garuda Vahana�, where the main deity is taken on a procession on the streets to offer Darshan to the devotees, is scheduled at 7.30 PM on 7th October.

The procession of the Lord in Garuda Vahana will be around Venkatanarayana Road (where TTD temple is located), Ramanujam Street, Dhandapani Street, and Soundararajan Street.

Along the festival, some special cultural events such as Bharathanatyam, chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam, etc. are also programmed.

On 11th October, the Chakkarasnanam will be performed at the Brahmotsavam festival.

The Chief Minister of Andhra state will be releasing the TTD Calendar for 2017 today (Monday, 3rd October) at Tirupathi.

The price of the calendar is Rs. 7/- and Rs. 10/-. The price of the diary is Rs. 100/-.

The calendars and diaries will be available for sales at the T Nagar TTD centre in Chennai from 4th October.
