Tamil Nadu Launches Online OP Ticket Booking at Government Hospitals

The Tamil Nadu Health Department has launched an online OP (Outpatient) ticket booking facility at government hospitals, making it easier for patients to access outpatient services without waiting in long queues.

The new service, introduced from today, allows patients to book their OP appointments online, helping reduce waiting times at hospital registration counters.

In the first phase, the facility has been rolled out at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Chennai. Patients can access the service by scanning a QR code using their mobile phones.

The online OP booking system has also been introduced at Government Headquarters Hospitals in Tirunelveli, Salem, Ramanathapuram, and Krishnagiri.

During the booking process, patients can use their Aadhaar number to verify their details and confirm their preferred appointment slot before visiting the hospital.

The initiative is expected to streamline outpatient registration, reduce crowding at hospitals, and improve the overall patient experience.
