Those entering Sipcot complex last week had a surprise greeting in a traditional manner. All the visitors were offered an iconic traditional sweet `Kamarkattu` along with `Neer More` which is the Tamil name for butter milk.
Institute of Technology and Management students were the host. They welcomed people working in the complex and others who visited the complex. All these arrangements were made to commemorate the birth week of Madras.
Filter coffee and Goli Soda both of which are integral part of Chennai were also offered in the complex. All the hosts including students and staff members sported traditional wear in Kancheepuram silk sarees and dhotis.
The employees were arranged for free bullock cart rides. This was in fact the very first ride in the bullock cart in their lifetime. The director of ITM, Sivanand Prasanna launched all the celebrations. This also included a quiz contest.
