Doctors in private hospitals on strike throughout Tamil Nadu!

Doctors working in private hospitals resorted to strike today (Saturday, 2nd May) throughout Tamil Nadu.
Recently, there was an incident when a doctor & his son working in a private hospital were attacked. Protesting against this incident and demanding that:
· Adequate protection must be given to private hospital,
· Private hospitals should be declared as protected zones
· Medicines should not be sold in pharmacies without doctor’s prescriptions
The doctors of private hospital went on strike.
The doctors are on strike from 6.00 AM today (Saturday, 2nd May) till 6.00 AM on Sunday, 3rd May neglecting treatment of patients in outdoor wards.
There are around 30000 doctors in the 3750 medium & big private hospitals throughout Tamil Nadu who have gone on strike.
The strike is conducted under the Tamil Nadu Branch of Indian Medical Council and supported by Tamil Nadu Doctors’ Association.
