Chennai to Experience Intense Heat from May 1; Weather Expert Issues Warning
Residents of Chennai should brace for a sharp rise in temperatures, with forecasts indicating intense summer heat from May 1 onwards. According to weather analyst Pradeep John, several parts of North Tamil Nadu are likely to witness scorching conditions in the coming days.
The districts of Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Tiruvallur along with Chennai are expected to face severe heatwave-like conditions, with temperatures rising significantly above normal levels.
At the same time, parts of interior, southern, and western Tamil Nadu may receive rainfall activity from May 1 or 2, offering slight relief in those regions. However, coastal and northern districts, especially areas close to the Andhra Pradesh border, will continue to experience intense heat and dry weather.
Public Advisory
People are strongly advised to avoid stepping out during peak heat hours, particularly between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM, when the sun is at its harshest. Staying hydrated, wearing light clothing, and minimizing outdoor exposure can help prevent heat-related illnesses.
