Metro Phase II Stretch to Be Completed by February: CM Stalin

Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday directed officials to complete the Poonamallee-Vadapalani stretch of Chennai Metro Rail Phase II by February, while reviewing the progress of 27 iconic projects across the State.
According to an official release, the number of iconic projects has increased from 155 to 288 across 24 departments, with a total estimated cost of ₹3,17,693 crore. So far, 85 projects have been completed.
During the review, the Chief Minister assessed projects worth ₹87,941 crore, including drinking water schemes, new bus stands, and a proposed skywalk near the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus. The government has set a target to complete all ongoing iconic projects across Tamil Nadu by January 2026.
