Velachery - Tambaram Road to be Renamed as Major Mukund Varadarajan Salai, Announces Tamil Nadu Government

In a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Indian Army officer Major Mukund Varadarajan, the Tamil Nadu Government has announced that the Velachery–Tambaram Road in Chennai will be renamed as Major Mukund Varadarajan Salai.

Major Mukund Varadarajan laid down his life while leading anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir and was posthumously honored for his exceptional bravery. The decision to rename the important Chennai road comes as a mark of respect for his service to the nation and to ensure that future generations remember his sacrifice.

The announcement highlights the state`s commitment to honoring national heroes and recognizing the contributions of armed forces personnel who have dedicated their lives to protecting the country.
