The Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TN TET) 2026 notification has been officially released, inviting applications from eligible candidates seeking teaching positions in government and aided schools across the state.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have worked as Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) or BT Assistant in government, government-aided, corporation, or recognized private schools on or before September 1, 2025.
Candidates with a degree and B.Ed. qualification are eligible to appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, qualifying them to teach Classes 1 to 8.
Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary (+2) with Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) can appear only for Paper 1, making them eligible to teach Classes 1 to 5.
Exam Pattern
The TN TET 2026 will be conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) in an objective-type format. Candidates must secure the minimum cut-off marks prescribed by the government based on their category to qualify and receive the eligibility certificate.

General & OBC candidates: ₹600
SC / ST / Differently Abled candidates: ₹300
