Tamil Nadu Government Invites Applications for Best Tamil Books Awards 2025

The Tamil Nadu Government`s Department of Tamil Development has invited applications for the Best Tamil Books Awards 2025. Authors whose Tamil books were published as first editions during 2025 are eligible to apply for the prestigious state-level literary awards.

According to the announcement, books published in Tamil across 33 different categories will be considered for evaluation. The initiative aims to recognize outstanding contributions to Tamil literature and encourage authors and publishers to produce high-quality works.

Under the award scheme, the author of the selected best book will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000 along with a certificate of recognition. The publisher of the winning book will also be awarded ₹25,000 and a certificate.

Interested authors can download the application form, eligibility criteria, and detailed guidelines from the official website of the Department of Tamil Development.

Applications must be submitted on or before August 31, 2026.
