RTE Admissions 2026-27 Start in Private Schools with 25% Reservation Quota
Admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic year 2026-27 have officially commenced in private schools across Tamil Nadu. The Director of Private Schools has issued instructions to begin the admission process under the 25% reservation quota.
As per the RTE guidelines, 25% of seats in private schools are reserved for children from economically weaker sections. Students from families with an annual income of less than ₹2 lakh are eligible to apply for admission under this scheme.
The move is aimed at ensuring equal access to quality education by allowing children from disadvantaged backgrounds to study in private institutions without financial constraints.
A circular regarding the admission process has been sent via email to all District Chief Education Officers, directing them to implement the scheme effectively across their respective districts.
Parents are advised to check eligibility criteria carefully and complete the application process within the stipulated time. The RTE scheme continues to play a vital role in promoting inclusive education and bridging the gap between different sections of society.
