Condolence Tribute to Dr. V. Sankar
With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of Dr. V. Sankar, a remarkable leader, visionary technocrat, and a noble human being whose contribution to society, the electronics industry, and public life has been immeasurable.
Dr. V. Sankar graduated with B.Tech (Hons) in Electronics & Electrical Communications Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (1970–73) and went on to serve the nation through several leadership roles, most notably as President of the All India Radio & Electronics Association (AREA).
He also founded Visions India, an organisation that inspired and supported thousands of professionals.
At the time of his passing, he served as Chairman of Bharat Vikas Parishad Jana Seva Trust – Generic Medical Shops, dedicating the last decade of his life to making affordable medicines accessible, touching countless lives in Tamil Nadu and across India.
My Personal Bond with Dr. V. Sankar
My connection with him began in 2002–2003, when I first visited his office at Visions India. That meeting changed the direction of my professional life.
He introduced me to the office bearers of the All India Radio & Electronics Association, trusted me with the responsibility to develop the official website, and ensured it was launched with great pride and celebration at Breeze Hotel—one of the most memorable milestones in my career.
More than opportunities, he gifted me wisdom.
He personally taught me business etiquette, the value of professionalism, humility, and how to grow with dignity. Through him, I was introduced to many leaders, entrepreneurs, and organisations, opening doors that shaped my journey and JB Soft System.
He honoured me on numerous occasions, appreciated my work publicly, and always motivated me to aim higher.
His Love and Personal Care
Dr. Sankar was not just a mentor - he was family.
When I got married in Tiruvannamalai, he travelled a full day in advance with his family just to be with me on one of the most important days of my life.
Such gestures showed his depth of affection, warmth, and genuine humanity.
