Tamil Nadu Weather Outlook Till Christmas: Light Rains, Cool Nights Ahead
Chennai, Dec 10, 2025 - According to the latest forecast shared by Tamil Nadu Weatherman, the next two weeks leading up to Christmas are expected to remain mostly dry for the KTCC (Kancheepuram–Tiruvallur–Chennai–Chengalpattu) region, with only light, hit-or-miss showers likely on December 16 and 17. The 51-member ensemble model shows no significant rainfall activity for Chennai during this period.
Delta & South TN to See Moderate Rains
The Delta districts - Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur — may experience moderate rainfall on December 16 and 17. Similarly, southern districts including Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram are expected to receive moderate showers. However, the forecast indicates no major or worrying rain spells for any part of Tamil Nadu.
Cool, Misty and Foggy Weather Ahead
Tamil Nadu is set to experience a cold phase between December 12 and 15, with another cool spell expected from December 19 to 22.
- Chennai Airport (Meenambakkam) has a good chance of recording its first sub-20°C minimum temperature of the season.
- Vellore, Karur, and Salem are likely to dip to 15–16°C.
- Trichy and Madurai may see minimum temperatures around 17°C during the cool spell.
With mild rain chances and colder nights ahead, most of Tamil Nadu is expected to enjoy pleasant and stable weather as Christmas approaches.
