CM Vijay Chairs First IAS, IPS & IFS Officers' Conference at Chennai Secretariat

Chief Minister Vijay will chair the first-ever IAS, IPS and IFS Officers` Conference under the present Tamil Nadu government at the Secretariat in Chennai on today and tomorrow.

The two-day conference, being held at Namakkal Kavignar Maligai, will begin at 10:30 AM. On the first day, the Chief Minister will review governance and law and order with District Collectors, District Superintendents of Police and senior police officials.

Key topics on the agenda include law and order, women`s and children`s safety, public health, the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu initiative, welfare of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, prevention of crimes against vulnerable communities, senior citizens` welfare, illegal mineral mining, security arrangements for religious festivals, and the welfare of migrant workers.

The Chief Minister will also hold a separate meeting with District Collectors to review the implementation and progress of action plans across 28 government departments.

On the second day, Chief Minister Vijay will meet IFS officers to review projects related to environment, climate change and forests. Discussions will cover the Green Tamil Nadu Mission, forest road development, implementation of the Forest Rights Act, and measures to prevent human-wildlife conflicts.

Several important policy directions and administrative instructions are expected to be issued during the two-day conference.
