Try weather conditions continued across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with several districts experiencing intense heat. Notably, Erode, Karur, and Madurai recorded a scorching 104°F (around 40°C) on Thursday.

Weather officials stated that while there has been no major change in maximum temperatures overall, some regions have recorded temperatures 2°C to 4°C above normal levels.

The current heatwave conditions are expected to persist across interior districts of Tamil Nadu until April 18, with no significant variation in temperature. Similarly, coastal areas, including Chennai, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, are also likely to witness stable but high temperatures.

From April 20, temperatures may rise further by 2°C to 3°C above normal in a few places. Due to the combination of high temperature and humidity, discomfort levels are expected to increase, especially in coastal regions.

In Chennai, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 100°F (approximately 38°C), with chances of discomfort in certain areas due to humid conditions.
