Tamil Nadu is experiencing intense summer heat, with temperatures crossing 100°F (37.7°C) in at least eight locations across the state. The rising heat levels indicate an early and severe summer this year.

According to weather reports, Vellore recorded the highest temperature at nearly 108°F, making it the hottest place in Tamil Nadu. Other districts that recorded extreme heat include Karur, Erode, Namakkal, Tirupattur, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruttani, and Madurai.

The sudden spike in temperature comes just days after parts of the state received light rainfall, which had briefly brought down the heat. However, the relief was short-lived as dry weather conditions returned quickly.

Weather experts say interior districts are facing more intense heat due to strong sunlight and lack of coastal influence. The early surge in temperatures during April has raised concerns about a prolonged and harsh summer season.

With temperatures expected to remain high in the coming days, people are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
