Special Buses Announced for May Day Long Weekend from Chennai
In view of the long weekend, May Day holiday, and increased passenger demand, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has announced the operation of special buses from Chennai to various parts of the state.
From Kilambakkam Bus Terminus, a total of 475 special buses will be operated on Thursday, connecting major destinations such as Tiruchirappalli, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur. Additionally, 315 buses will be operated on May 1 and May 2 to handle the festive rush.
From Koyambedu Omni Bus Stand, special services include 85 buses on Thursday towards Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, while 75 buses each will run on May 1 and May 2.
Further, from Madhavaram Bus Terminus, 14 buses per day will be operated from Thursday through May 2 to ease passenger congestion.
Transport officials stated that these additional services aim to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for passengers during the holiday season. Travelers are advised to book tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
