Tamil Nadu is experiencing intense heat conditions, with temperatures crossing 105.8°F in 13 locations on Wednesday. Despite the scorching heat, the India Meteorological Department has forecast light rainfall in delta districts, Western Ghats regions, and coastal areas until April 21.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai, a trough extending from southeast Madhya Pradesh to the Gulf of Mannar via Vidarbha, Marathwada, north interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu is influencing current weather patterns.

Due to this system, light rain is likely at isolated places in the Western Ghats districts, delta coastal regions, Ramanathapuram, and Karaikal until April 21. Meanwhile, Chennai and its suburbs are expected to experience partly cloudy skies, while interior districts may continue to witness above-normal temperatures until April 19.
