TRB Clarifies Assistant Professor Recruitment Process, Assures Transparency in Experience Marks

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has assured that the recruitment process for Assistant Professors in Government Arts and Science Colleges is being conducted in a transparent and reliable manner. The clarification comes in response to concerns raised over the awarding of experience marks during the selection process.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the TRB said that all procedures related to the direct recruitment of Assistant Professors are carried out in accordance with relevant government orders and recruitment rules, under the guidance of an expert committee constituted by the Directorate of Collegiate Education.

The clarification follows reports highlighting discrepancies in the experience marks awarded to some candidates during the recruitment process.

Referring to Higher Education Department Government Order No. 412, the TRB stated that teaching experience marks are awarded only after the direct verification of original certificates submitted by candidates during the certificate verification process.

According to the Board, the verification is conducted by an expert committee functioning under the Joint Director of Collegiate Education. The committee carefully scrutinizes all original documents before awarding work experience marks.

The TRB acknowledged that some candidates noticed differences between the experience marks shown in the earlier selection lists and those published after certificate verification. It explained that these variations resulted from the detailed scrutiny of original documents submitted during the verification stage.

The Board reiterated that the entire recruitment process is being carried out strictly in accordance with prescribed norms and procedures and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency, and accuracy in the selection of Assistant Professors.
