Low pressure area to form today 21st October- Chennai and suburbs will receive very heavy rains!!
According to the meteorological department in Chennai, a low pressure area would be formed today 21st October. As a result, Chennai and its suburbs would receive very heavy rains on 22nd and 23rd October.
As per the statement issued by the meteorological department an atmospheric air circulation is present over the SE Arabian Sea off the Kerala coast. It mentioned that a deep depression that prevailed over SE Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep areas on 19th of October has moved westwards and is prevailing over SE Arabian Sea as deep depression from 20th October. It is likely to move westwards and strengthen into depression.
Over south Andaman and over southeast Bay of Bengal, atmospheric circulation has been prevailing. Low pressure area is likely to form in the next 24 hours over the SE Bay of Bengal. Point is that it is likely to move westward and strengthen into low pressure over south and west central Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.
As a result, on 21st of October, there would be light to moderate rains with lightning and thunder showers in places like TN, Puducherry and Karaikal etc.
In the districts like Ramanathapuram, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Cuddalore etc, there would be heavy to moderate rainfall. It is learnt that heavy rainfall would occur in one or two places in the districts like Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and in Villupuram, Chengalpet, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Theni and Madurai etc.
On 22nd of October, Heavy to moderate rains is likely to occur in the districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Villupuram plus in other districts like Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai etc. heavy rains would occur in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Thirupathur and Vellore, Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur, Nagai,Thanjavur and Pudukottai etc.
On 23rd October, heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur in one or two places in the districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet Kancheepuram,Ranipet and Vellore etc. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in districts of Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Villupuram, Tiruvannamali and Thirupathur etc.
