The 49th Chennai Book Fair concluded successfully in Chennai, attracting around 20 lakh visitors during its run. The annual literary event was held at YMCA Grounds, Nandanam and witnessed an overwhelming response from book lovers across age groups.
Organised by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI), the fair featured lakhs of titles across Tamil, English, and other Indian languages. Free entry this year played a major role in boosting footfall, with strong turnout even on weekdays.
Publishers reported encouraging book sales and high participation from students, families, and young readers. With the success of this edition, expectations are already high for the upcoming 50th (Golden Jubilee) Chennai Book Fair.
