Inauguration of Mudhavar Marundhagam at Ripon Buildings in Chennai now!!
The Ripon Buildings in Chennai was busier than usual on Wednesday, 8th October.
Chennai Mayor R. Priya inaugurated Mudhalvar Marundhagam pharmacy at Ripon Buildings in Chennai yesterday. This pharmacy has been constructed by GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation at a cost of Rs 12 lakhs.
It must be noted that the Mudhalvar Marundhagam scheme started operating on 24th February and the objective behind this would be to set up 1000 pharmacies across the state of Tamil Nadu.
Important piece of information is that about 44such pharmacies would be present in the Chennai district alone. It is learnt that 9 pharmacies would be run by entrepreneurs and the remaining 35 pharmacies would be run by cooperative societies. In these pharmacies, medicines would be sold at 25% below procurement price and the medicines would be 75% cheaper than the private pharmacies. This was according to the press release statement.
The release further mentioned that as many as 294 medicine types were being procured and supplied through TN Medical services Corporation. The medicines include paracetamol cetirizine, pantoprazole and various types of insulin injections and cartridges etc.
