life. The basic purpose of Isha Foundation is to inspire, to stoke, and to
nurture this innate search in every being, helping them to realize the ultimate
potential within.
The word Isha means the formless primordial source of creation and Isha
Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, plays a
vital role in the well-being of the individual and the world. Set up as a
non-political and non-religious organization, the Foundation does not promote
any particular ideology, religion, or race but transmits inner sciences of
universal appeal.
Isha Foundation functions through over 150 centers worldwide. Empowered by over
a quarter of million volunteers, the Foundation is engaged in initiating
multitudes into the science of inner well-being. In addition, it has also
pioneered several projects of immense social significance such as Action for
Rural Rejuvenation, which renders free medical and other core services to an
underprivileged rural population of over a million people.
Driven by a sense of oneness, love, and a deep longing to reach out and share,
Isha endeavors are entirely an outcome of the selfless dedication and the
spirited efforts of its volunteers. Spread around the world and belonging to
different nationalities and regions, this melting pot of cultures serves as a
model for a new paradigm of humanity.
Isha Foundation is an entirely volunteer run organization. Every single action
and activity of the Foundation and the Isha Yoga Center is done on a volunteer
basis.
Isha Foundation works to manifest the all-encompassing Self in every human
being. Sadhguru maintains that divinity is inherent in every aspect of life, and
a combination of hands (karma yoga), heart (bhakti yoga) and head (jnana yoga)
is the most effective formula for inner growth development. Administration of
this international organization gives over 250,000 volunteers the opportunity to
grow through selfless action.
