Only 14 lakh income tax assesses in highest bracket in 2012-13
The Income Tax Return Statistics for Assessment Year 2012-13 says that only 14 lakh individuals out of the 2.89 crore assessees in the country declared an annual income of over Rs 10 lakh, attracting the highest tax bracket of 30 per cent, in assessment year 2012-13.

Gold rate increased Rs.56 per sovereign
The cost of gold has increased Rs.56 per sovereign on Friday evening (Aug 19, 2016).A sovereign was worth Rs.23960.00 and a gram was Rs.2995.00. The cost of 1 gram of pure gold (24K) is now Rs.3203.00.

SBI merges with six other banks to become worth Rs. 37 lakh crore
The Board of Directors of the State Bank of India, or SBI, approved merger of its five associate banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank with itself. It also finalised the share swap ratio for three of the listed subsidiaries and BMB.
