Low pressure in Bay of Bengal - More rains in Chennai for next 3 days

There would be widespread rains throughout the entire south peninsula during the next two to three days because of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast.
The moisture-laden easterly to southeasterly winds from the Bay will blow along the trough (region of intensified moist winds) that continues to persist from north Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu.
The weather system will travel west-south-westward from its present position to cause rain in many places from Orissa to Tamil Nadu across Andhra Pradesh.
After entering land from the east coast, these rain bands will lash Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada in the south central peninsula. They will also precipitate over interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and adjoining Tamil Nadu in coming 48 to 72 hours.
