Vinayakar Chaturthi – 10,000 policemen for security

The Vinayakar Chaturthi day is celebrated happily and police has given permission to keep 1705 big Ganesha statues all around Chennai. Besides these, more than 1000 small statues are kept in most of the places in Chennai. At home, people use to worship Ganesha that is made out of clay, and after a week they use to drown it in the sea as per the tradition. A grand procession is going to be held on 15th headed by the leader Mr. Ramgopalan. Other groups are also planning to have processions on other days. So, for the coming week more than 10,000 policemen are deployed for security to avoid chaos and confusion.
