Illegal bunks in the Chennai city removed

The Chennai Corporation in order to comply with the High Court orders have removed 339 unauthorized bunks out of 518 bunks on Friday. The Chennai Corporation submitted in its counter-affidavit filed in the Madras HC on Thursday. The counter was in response to a contempt application filed by social activist ‘Traffic’ KR Ramaswamy, seeking to punish the Corporation Commissioner for not complying with the earlier order directing the removal of all the bunk shops in the City. The Chennai Corporation will be removing the rest of the bunks within two weeks.
