It is very important to save water from getting wasted!!

To inculcate the sense of water conservation in peoples mind, the state government would play its role by this new initiative.

Beginning from Monday, all theatres in TN would show a 5-minute clipping of Kudimaramathu scheme in the intermission break. By this, sitting through the interval break in cinema theatres would become more informative for the filmgoers.

Tamil Nadu Films Division had earlier submitted a 5.32-minute long clipping of Kudimaramathu scheme to the CBFC or Central Board for Film Certification. The examining committee of CBFC approved this clipping last week. This clipping would stress the importance of protecting and restoring the water bodies from pollution, encroachment and civic apathy.

From 2016 till 2018, around 2900 water bodies have been restored fully and this was pointed out by the chief minister of TN, Mr E. Palaniswami in the assembly meeting. An amount of around Rs 500 crores was allotted for the restoration of 1829 water bodies for the year 2019-20.

An official belonging to the PWD mentioned about how the documentary would show how the local residents and farmers as a community come together to claim a common space that belongs to them. The revival of the traditional method of water management would be shown in this clipping during the interval time in the theatres in TN. Water management has become an important need of the hour and the Kudimaramathu scheme was implemented to ensure that more water was saved during the rains.
