Police take action after garbage dump protests

Following protests by residents of surrounding areas of Kodangaiyur dump yard, police arrested 17 people who were allegedly responsible.
The residents protested burning of garbage in the dump and said that the smoke was affecting life in the area. (Refer http://www.livechennai.com/detailnews.asp?newsid=4313 for more details).
