Purattasi Pournami Girivalam in Progress: Auspicious Time Continues Until 11:06 AM Today

Lakhs of devotees are gathering in Tiruvannamalai to participate in the sacred Pournami Girivalam around Arunachala Hill during the Tamil month of Purattasi.

The Pournami period begins at 11:06 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026, and ends at 10:44 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This period is considered an auspicious time for devotees to undertake Girivalam around the Arunachala Hill.

Devotees have been arriving in large numbers to complete the 14-kilometre Girivalam, which is traditionally performed around Arunachala Hill, revered as a manifestation of Lord Shiva.

The pilgrimage route has witnessed a steady flow of devotees, with arrangements made by the temple authorities and district administration for drinking water, medical assistance, sanitation, traffic management and security.

Devotees visiting Tiruvannamalai can participate in the sacred Girivalam during the Pournami period and complete the circumambulation around Arunachala Hill.
