Rain Likely in 5 Tamil Nadu Districts Today: Weather Department Update

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has forecast the possibility of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, in five districts of Tamil Nadu .

According to the latest weather forecast, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Ranipet may receive rain at one or two places. Thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of around 30 to 40 kmph are also likely in these districts.

Rain Expected in Western Ghats Districts

The weather department has stated that moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, may occur at one or two places in the Western Ghats districts.

Other parts of Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, may also experience light rain accompanied by thunderstorms at isolated places.

Chennai Weather Forecast

In Chennai and its suburban areas, the sky is expected to remain generally cloudy today. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in some parts of the city during the evening and night.

The maximum temperature in Chennai is expected to be around 34°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain between 26°C and 27°C.

Residents are advised to stay alert during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds and follow the latest weather updates.

Rain Forecast for Tomorrow

On September 24, the Western Ghats districts, along with Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Ranipet, may again receive light to moderate rain at one or two places.

Thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of around 30 to 40 kmph are also likely in these areas.
